Rich Bayer is the Chief Executive Office at Clearpay - known as Afterpay outside the UK - a leading retail instalment payments innovator.
He leads nearly 100 employees in the UK and drives the company’s growth. He sits on the Board of Clearpay Finance Ltd and previously served on the board of Squareup Europe Ltd. He has been with the company since April 2019.
Before relocating to London in March 2021, Rich was based in San Francisco, where he was EVP of Client Success at Afterpay for two years. In that role he built the Client Success team from the ground up and oversaw all of the key retail relationships. Afterpay was acquired by Block (NYSE: XYZ) in February 2022.
A seasoned sales and business development executive, prior to joining Afterpay, Rich was SVP of Client Success at OneMarket. At Shoprunner over a period of six years, he held senior Partner Success and Sales positions before becoming Chief Commercial Officer. During a six year stint at Affinion Group, he oversaw Sales, Relationship Management and Business Development, and at ClubMom, he was Business Development Director.
